I like country music because it is one the easiest forms of music to understand. There are no hidden innuendos. I can remember many a Saturday night sitting in front of the TV, black and white of course, watching The Porter Wagoner Show followed by The Buck Owens Show— half of my siblings were “pick’in” and the other half were “grin’in” right along with Roy, Buck and Grand Pa Jones—I was “a grinner”. That was simplistic and plain Country at its best and, in our living room, knew no racial boundaries. We thoroughly enjoyed every pick’in minute of it!
